Google Maps integration
Showing one location or helping visitors search dozens? Google Maps offers different routes. We choose the smallest one that helps your visitors. Read about the options or book a conversation.
What is Google Maps?
Google Maps lets visitors open an address, plan a route or view locations on an interactive map. Websites can use ordinary Maps links, an embedded map or the Maps JavaScript API.
The choice depends on the task. A directions button is often enough for one address. A location finder with filters also needs sound address data and a plain text list.
Directions in one click
Open directions in Google Maps from an address.
A map beside the address
Show one location with an embedded map.
Search many locations
Pair a map with a results list for many locations.
Readable addresses
Keep addresses available when the map does not load.
How do I connect Google Maps to my website?
A Maps URL can open directions without map code on your website. Use the Maps Embed API for an embedded map. For custom markers and filters, the Maps JavaScript API gives you more control.
The Embed and JavaScript APIs require an API key and a Google Cloud project with billing enabled. Costs depend on the service used, so check expected usage. Maintain addresses in one place and show them as text too.
Common challenges with maps on websites
How does Super Interactive connect Google Maps to your website?
We start with the addresses and the visitor task. For one place, we make a clear directions button. For many locations, we identify useful filters and decide whether a map helps people choose.
For an interactive map, we keep the list and markers aligned and test mobile use, keyboard access and a map that does not load. Addresses remain readable on the page.
